EMBASSY OF FINLAND / FINSKA AMBASADA

New Belgrade area / year 1998 /
SKETCH / FLOW / TRACE / CONTOUR
MODEL
This is an old project dated since 1998 while I was still studing at Belgrade faculty of Architecture in Belgrade. I consider this project one of the most importance for my future work considering architecture as a "space that flows" and "space that changes". Considering most important elements of the sourroundings such as exhisting structures and the river flow not far from the building. FLOW / TRACE / CONTOUR are the basic element of this project.
TOP VIEW

Dynamic of the structure is achived by curving a form into a shape that resemble the water flow. The axis of the building is oriented to the river and to the great park where a steel sculpture is situated. The sculpture is very simple combination of two needles accrosed on a horizon viewed from the main hall as a remmemberance on the Finnish landscape.

The simple grid structure infront of the building is a pine needles structure and slightly sliced planes in a courtyard resembles the building with ice-bergs at the north point of Finnland. In the same time the inner courtyard is a beat protected from the main street access and transformed into quiet yard.
